Pour me some ether

The green grass
The blue lamp casts
Flickering light
On my feet
Get me a whiff of ether
That flows in the stream
I am so hapless
Scoured is my dream
Don't pluck my eyelashes
Away from brashes
The low gas pressures
Tug at my heart
Let me evenly breathe
No more needs
Don't brag about bliss
When desire's dried out in me
I'm tired of bargaining
Just pour me some ether
From the stream
Darn the milkmaid!

  1. running short of fuel for writing ? ether won't serve the purpose, Gulfam ! Try raindrops, for a change !

its a nice poem .....if you want to use ether ..do it but first do something worthwhile....so that you remain in the memory , not as desperate bum .. but as an artist of some sort....

  3. I guess I made a faux passe here :) I googled it now only to find that yeah, the C2H5OC2H5 distilled liquid ethyl ether, is the more common usage, though I took the archaic sense 'The element believed to fill all space above the sphere of the moon and to compose the stars and planets' to make a variant - 'the virtual fluid composing life', yes something like raindrops...

I read it again and see that how strangely it takes a new form with the other meaning, how unintentionally it changes from a breather to a punk stinker... may be I would be more careful next time onwards :)
